Chit-Chat Wednesday and JUST START!

This is going to be short. I'm so busy this week and Pip's post was so good that I feel we all need time to read and absorb it properly! Thanks again, Pip, for popping in and posting for me.
I am in the midst of trying to edit my mystery book, Poets Cottage, while I continue to: renovate our cottage (not as much progress there as I hoped), work very part-time in my 'real world' job, settle my daughter into her new school, juggle various school commitments and plan a wedding. Plus run a Blog and take my girl to swimming lessons etc. I wish I could say ballet but my daughter has dropped out of ballet and so I'm a ballet mother drop-out!
Anyway, here's a great quote from the wonderful Agatha Christie from Twitter site Quotes4 Writers. It could easily apply to all artists in any medium. Or, just generally life itself.
The secret of getting ahead is getting started. Agatha Christie.
And so no excuses, no procrastination. Agatha has spoken!
Thanks for popping in. Enjoy your week. I am off to the movies tonight with Art School Annie to see 'It's Complicated.' I’m looking forward to seeing Meryl's house and Alec Baldwin in this romantic comedy. It will be good to turn my brain off and not worry about the fact I still haven't organized a wedding cake and I’m not sure about the dress with only a few weeks to go. But I do have a ring, an estate aquamarine art deco style ring. Art Deco also makes me think of Agatha.
Aren't these prints fun? You can purchase them or an entire range of book covers from the Queen of Crime's collection from the official Agatha Christie website.
xx

  1. yes, 'just start' is good advice. do something, no matter how small, towards the end goal. this is how i feel about my packing to move house. good luck with your busy times too - tackle them one bite-sized piece at a time!

  2. Hi Josephine

I totally understand how you feel! There just aren't enough hours in the day...It is true that sometimes you have so many things to do that you do not know where to get started and end up doing nothing much.. Agatha Christie's quote is just what I need to hear today. I've just been sitting here at the computer whilst digesting my breakfast, catching up with a bit of blogging but at the same time wondering which task I should tackle next, I have so many to do and all just as pressing as the other...It's easy to try and espcape in to a bit of blogging and forget all about the other things that need doing.

Each day my list of tasks seems so long, the decorating and putting house in order is taking up so much time so I sympathise with how it must be for you at the moment with all the other things to fit in too. After looking at your blog, I'm going to make a list of what to do today and will get on with it! It is sunny for the first time in ages and that helps add a little spring in your step!

I hope that you will enjoy your well deserved outing tonight. We will will get there in the end with our decorating etc... ;-)

I hope that Daisy is enjoying her new school.

    Take care
    Isabelle x
P.S: Thank you for your lovely comments.

  4. I know how you feel - there isn't enough time in the day ... But since reading Pips guest post and taking her advice of getting up at 6am this will add another half day to the day. Right? lol

Actually I did try this little philosophy and began getting up at 5 am only to fall exhausted into bed at 8pm. Which defeated the purpuse of adding extra hours. Anyway am going to give the 6am thing another go ...

Good luck with all your activities. You are on a roll xx

  8. that dratted facebook! i rely on it to remember which day it is so i can read your blog....and it's all over the place these days. i woke this morning thinking...haven't heard from Josephine for a while....well..it wasn't my first thought but it was one of the first after coffee (any thought before coffee doesn't count). i think we've all been busy with mundane life stuff...but i came here and you're still here and all is good in the world. wet in my part of the world, but good.
dear, sweet Josephine.....i missed your blog. i'll have to remember the days myself i guess....
